Some may think my work is a little dark or sinister, but before you judge me, look at it through my perspective.
I feel that when I have demons, my way of taking care of them, is by pulling them out and trapping them in my poems, or my art. My work frees me from the darkness, and brings me joy; while most who have problems just stuff them down deep inside, until they crawl out in the worst way.

The Taste of Lead

Written by Jeffrey Arce

Lead tastes like love.
Lead tastes like hate.
Lead tastes like lies and betrayal,
That never seems to dissipate.
Why does the taste of lead,
A taste so metallic, sour, and cold,
Why does such a fowl taste appear so great,
When your soul is torn,
Heart is broke,
And you feel so alone?
What is the taste of lead?
It is the taste of loss.
It is the taste of all the hurtful things said.
It is the taste of pain,
And blood red dread.
It is the taste of a long, happy journey,
On a familiar road that has come to an end.
Lead is the taste of nothing left.
Lead is the taste,
Of your very last taste,
When nothing else in your world seems to make sense.
Lead is the taste of your last breath.
Lead is the taste,
Of your final resting place,
As you pull back the trigger to meet death.

Falling Empire

Written by Jeffrey Arce
Oh pain, oh hate, oh strife!
Why must the world suffer you
All morning, all evening, all night?
Darkness has forsaken you humans, and swallowed all of your light.
Yet still you march in line,
Building an empire destined to topple and tumble, distinguishing life.

Your false values have eaten it's way through your flesh and bone.

And still they feast,
Devouring your soul.
You cheer for chaos,
As your ultimate gladiators battle under that glamorous dome.

You worship flesh and lust, fore it is plastered on everything,
everywhere you go.

And your gods poison you,
All for the sake of control.

Oh free land,

You have become new Rome.

Oh goddamn,
Sacrificial lamb.
The battlefield will become your new home.

Souls given freely to the god of money, and hate, and sewn,
To the rope that will pull your civilization to the depths where all corruption and evil is grown.
Oh pain, oh hate, oh strife!
These three things will be the end,
Of all good, all hope, all life.

Climbing Fate

I have troubles in my life just like everyone else, and sometimes it is a struggle for me to remind myself that things aren't so bad. It gets hard when you constantly have to tell yourself that life could be worse, and yes, I to get very frustrated when things don't go my way; lol! Believe me, I tend to get pissed a lot. But no matter how bad things may get, I always overcome the challenges, and remember how wonderful life really is. As if a great and powerful force in the sky grabs my hand and pulls my ranting, angry ass toward such amazing sites as these...,

Quartz Mountain in Mangum Oklahoma. God works in mysterious ways in my life, as well as everyone else's. Every time things seem to be at their worst I am shown the majestic beauty hidden beyond all the hate, anger, and fear. Life is balance, and challenges are a way of that life, but there are always rewards awaiting us all; we just have to learn to be patient, and positive. The world does not want to destroy us, fore she loves us more than any living being could ever understand, but she does understand the importance of tough love. Your rewards will not come easy. There will be challenges, there will be pain, but like Dante and The Inferno, your battle through these things will be rewarded with discovery, knowledge, and love. Walk, run, climb, fight, and leap; and never stop until you find what you are looking for... Never stop until you find your heaven in the real world.

Even if you stand alone, stand proud.
